Here’s how to make a creamy coconut strawberry cloud at home!

What is a Strawberry Cloud?

A strawberry cloud is just strawberry cream or cold foam. It got its name from its cloud-like appearance: a fluffy, soft, white cream on top of a drink. It’s also called a cream top, sweet cream cold foam, einspanner, or even whipped cream depending on where you go.

The strawberry cloud is a great drink topper for extra creaminess and sweetness! It also gives any drink a nice, soft pink color.

Strawberry cream is super easy to make, and all you need is strawberry syrup or sauce, heavy cream, and an electric frother or whisk.

What is in a Coconut Strawberry Cloud?

This coconut strawberry cloud has homemade strawberry syrup, heavy cream, ice, and coconut water. That’s it! It’s a relatively simple drink that you can make in under 5 minutes.

You whip the strawberry syrup and heavy cream until you have a soft, fluffy cream (but not whipped cream.) Then, you pour it on top of your coconut water and enjoy!

It’s perfect on a hot day or when you want a refreshing drink. Plus, it makes you feel fancy and like you bought it from a boba shop or cafe without the expensive price tag.

And for all my caffeine-sensitive friends, you’re in luck! This drink is caffeine-free so you can enjoy this before bed or even in the daytime as an afternoon treat.

What Does a Coconut Strawberry Cloud Taste Like?

This tastes reminiscent of the pink drink from Starbucks, except more creamy! It’s not as sweet and doesn’t have that juice flavor, but more of a coconut water base.

Coconut water and strawberry cream are so satisfying to drink together and insanely thirst-quenching. You get the fruity, juicy strawberry with the hydrating coconut water and the cold foam makes it super creamy. It also kind of reminds me of a strawberry creamsicle but less sweet and more hydrating.

You can make it even more refreshing by omitting the cream and just having strawberry coconut water on its own. (Or try a matcha coconut water for an energizing boost.)

Does Strawberry and Coconut Taste Good Together?

There’s a reason why Starbuck’s pink drink is so popular! Strawberry and coconut go really well together, but it’s not surprising since coconut water pairs well with a lot of flavors.

Coconut water has a very neutral flavor and it’s very refreshing. It tastes great with most, if not all fruits, especially more tangy ones like mango, kiwi, orange, strawberry, etc. The coconut water rounds out a lot of the fruit tanginess and makes it seem a little sweeter.

Some coconut water brands even sell a strawberry coconut milk drink, perhaps inspired by the Pink Drink.

You can make fruit-flavored fruits easily by either adding a homemade fruit puree or jam or even blending them together.

Health Benefits of Strawberry and Coconut

Did you know that strawberry and rose are actually a great, nutrient-dense combo? There are tons of benefits to having them together; here are just a few health benefits of strawberries and coconut:

  • Strawberries are nutrient-dense: They have a lot of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, as well as phytochemicals that help combat disease and even cancer.
  • Coconut water has a ton of benefits: It’s hydrating, helps maintain blood sugar, has lots of potassium that helps lower blood pressure, and has lots of antioxidants and nutrients.

So, add some strawberries to the next coconut water you have!

Best Coconut Water

Not all coconut waters are alike! However, the best way to know what is best for you is to try different coconut water brands. I really like the coconut water from Vita Coco and Harmless Harvest, but I haven’t tried too many other brands. Large grocery brands also have their own brand of coconut water, like 365 for Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s.

Ideally, you can open a fresh coconut and use that coconut water (the best and freshest)! However, most of us will probably have to buy it post-coconut.

There are also pink coconut waters, which apparently taste sweeter and nuttier.

Tips:

Here’s some tips on how to make a delicious coconut strawberry drink at home!

  • Make it Vegan: You can use coconut cream or any other dairy-free heavy cream for the cream top instead of whipping cream for the same creamy consistency.
  • Test Different Coconut Waters: Try different coconut water brands to see if there are differences in flavor! Not all coconut water brands are alike; some may be sweeter than others.
  • Use Strawberry Jam: For a convenient sweetener, you can use strawberry jam instead of strawberry syrup or sauce. Most people already have it in their pantry so no need to run out and buy an extra ingredient.
